Question . . .
Have you ever wondered why so many professing Christians backslide? Especially a new convert . . Ponder on this for a minute, a person hears a message from the Gospel and their interest is peaked and they decide to give this christian thing a go to see if it works for them. Life seems to go good for just a short time but all of the sudden persecution and trials hit and bam, the happiness that is suppose to accompany being a christian is faltered . . .with this statitstics show that the person usally falls away from the faith and begans to live life back in the flesh. They gave the so called "better life" christian thing a try but now feel as if they were mislead?! In turn they become an inagural backslider. Maybe it's not there fault? Maybe the message they heard failed to mention the true reason a person should come to Christ? Maybe all they heard was that Jesus brings peace, happiness, joy ect . . .? Of course a person that is having difficult times in life would jump on board to at least give it a try right?! However I believe that usually when this type of message is preached it fails to inform a person that Jesus also says that by following Him you will have trials, temptations and persucutions for His names sake! So what do you think? What message should be brought from behing the pulpit? I have my thoughts and would love to hear yours!
